We are happy to announce that Melissa Livingston, DNP, FNP-BC, has earned her Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine (ABOM) recognized by the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA), becoming a clinical leader in the field of Obesity Medicine. She has been one of the founding practitioners to develop and maintain the Memorial Wellness Center.
Candidates must earn a minimum of 60 continuing education (CE) credits through OMA within 36 months of submitting their application. As part of the 60 CE credits, candidates must complete OMA’s review course for the ABOM exam, either at the live conference or online. Melissa is one of the very few in the state of New Mexico achieving this certification.
She has developed the Wellness Center around the understanding that obesity is a chronic, multifaceted, complex, relapsing disease. Obesity requires intricate care, commitment, and treatment modalities that are dynamic and ever changing with the demand of the patient, community, and associated comorbid conditions. Melissa is committed to delivering compassionate, comprehensive care to all patients, enhancing the collaborative approach to team-based management and treatment of patients at the Memorial Weight Loss and Heartburn Centers.
Please join the Memorial Wellness/Bariatric/Heartburn Centers in congratulating Melissa in her accomplishments and dedication to enhancing the Wellness program, as well as offering the patients advanced care.
